HYDERABAD : The delay in the announcement of National Eligibility Test results by the University Grants Commission has left nearly 10,000 students in the lurch.
The test was conducted in December last year and the results were supposed to be announced in April. Inexplicably, the UGC has scheduled the next NET in June without releasing the previous NET results.
Students are clueless over whether or not to appear for a fresh NET in the absence of the results of the previous NET. The delay in declaration of the results consigns the future of deserving students to the doldrums as admissions to various colleges and universities are currently in progress.
According to the latest UGC norms, NET qualification is mandatory to be appointed as faculty in degree colleges and universities.
