HYDERABAD : The University Grants Commission has cautioned students against taking admissions in private universities in distance education mode on the grounds that such universities were not allowed to set up study centres outside their territorial jurisdiction.

It requested the students to go through the UGC website carefully and to clarify the status of the university from the UGC before taking admission.
