Eligibilty
Candidates fromall overthe country can appear for the UGET 2016 entrance examination. The
eligibility criterion for various programs has been as published by COMEDK in itsNotification dated
05.12.2015 on its website www.comedk.orgwhich isreproduced as under:-
A) For UG Medical and Dental Courses
a) The candidates shouldhave qualifiedin second PUC or10+2 or equivalent examination recognized
by State / Central Government, the lasttwo years ofstudy shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and
Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.

b) The General Merit candidatesmust have passed these subjects(PCB) individually andmust have
obtained aminimumof 50%marks taken togetherin PCB (40% in the case of SC, ST andOBC
candidates of Karnataka State).
c) The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and expecting the
percentage of marks as at (b) are also eligible to apply.
d) The General Merit candidatesmust also secure notlessthan 50% marks(40% in the case of SC, ST
and OBC candidates of Karnataka) in aggregate in PCBsubjectsin the COMEDK UG entrance test
2016.
e) English is one of the subjects, as in the previous years, to be tested alongwith Physics, Chemistry
and Biology duringCOMEDKUGET – 2016. The General Merit candidates should securenotlessthan
50% marks in English (40% in the case of SC, ST andOBC candidates of Karnataka) in the entrance
test. However,the marksso secured in English will not be added forthe determination of rank which
shall be decided exclusively based on the markssecured by the candidates in PCBsubjects. Further, a
candidate is not entitled for a rank if he/she failsto secure 50% or 40% of the marks as the case may
be in English. The paper on English language will be normally ofsecond PUC or10+2 standard and
will testthe candidate’s comprehension of the language,the structure of words, phrases, clauses
and sentences.
f) The candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31stDecember(31-12- 2016) of the
yearof admission to the MBBS / BDS course.
Note: The candidatesshallsubmitthe original marks card ofthe qualifying examination during
counseling forproving theireligibility vis-a-vis marksscored as evidenced by the original marks
card.
THE FOLLOWING CANDIDATESARE UNACCEPTABLEAND HENCE NEED NOT APPLY:
Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination i.e. second PUC or10+2 or equivalent prior
to 2014.
Candidates havingqualified earlier and selected an MBBS seatthrough COMEDK but failed to join
the college so selected or failed to surrenderthe said seat atthe COMEDK level for valid reasons or
having joined the college so selected failed to pursue the course.
Candidates already pursuingMedicalUG course anywhere in India.
Candidates whowere caught attempting to impersonateor found following / adopting any ofthe
malpractices earlierincluding entertaining touts oragents.
B) For UG Engineering Courses
a) The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission forB.E. issecond PUC or 10+2 Higher
Secondary orequivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government;the lasttwo years
of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.

b) The General Merit candidates should have passed with aminimumaggregate of 45%marks (40%
in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
and should have passed thesesubjectsindividually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory
subjects alongwith Chemistry or Bio Technology orBiology or Computer Science or Electronics as
one of the optionalsubjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteriaby the AICTEwill be
adopted.
c) An attemptin the COMEDK Entrance Testseeking admission to Engineering coursesis considered
adequate for figuring in the rank.
d) Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry
admissions.
Note: The candidatesshallsubmitthe original marks card ofthe examination during counseling for
proving their eligibility vis-a-vis marksscored as evidenced by the original marks card
C) For UG Architecture Courses
a) The prescribed qualifying examination foradmission to B. Arch course issecond PUC or 10+2
Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects alongwith
othersubjects ora 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and havingobtained at
least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST andOBC candidates of Karnataka).
b) The candidates should have appeared for NationalAptitude TestinArchitecture (NATA)
conducted by the Council of Architecture with aminimumscore of 80 out of 200 marksfor both
General Merit and Category students.
c) There shall be no Entrance Testfor candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course.
ii) Candidates seekingB. Arch course shall submit separate application form.
Note:
Notwithstanding the eligibility criteriamentioned as above, the changes, if any, effected by MCI,DCI,AICTE, VTU, COA or any other competent Regulatory Authoritiesshall be adoptedmutatismutandis.
Rank Card will be generated only forthose candidates who become eligible foradmissiontoUnderGraduate Courses as perthe regulations of Medical Council /Dental Council of India / AICTE/ VTU
