CBSE has announced merit scholarship scheme for Single girl children who have passed class 10 (CBSE board) in May 2009. The value of scholarship is Rs 500 per month for two years only.

Indian national who is a single girl child and the only child of her parents can apply for the scholarship. She should be a student of CBSE in class 10 (i e, passed class 10 from a CBSE affiliated school) and scored 60 per cent or more in class 10 examinations 2009 conducted by the CBSE and currently studying in a CBSE affiliated school where the tuition fee for class 10 was not more than Rs 1500 per month during the academic year 2008-09. In the next two years the total enhancement of tuition fee in such schools shall not be more than 10 per cent of the tuition fee charged in the year 2008-09.

For renewal of scholarship to those who have passed class 10 in 2008 and have received the scholarship, there is a separate form (F-2) for renewal and applicants are advised to apply in prescribed form only.
